Iowa State University President Greg Geoffroy announced today the National Science Foundation has awarded ISU and its research partners a five-year, $18.5 million grant to establish the NSF Engineering Research Center for Biorenewable Chemicals based at ISU.
Ames junior Ellen Hansen leads a pack of runners that includes Ames’ Rebecca Miller (51), Bryanna Behning (3) and Austin Gerritson (25) Thursday in the Ames Invitational cross county meet in Ames. The Little Cyclones kept a tight pack together to win the invitational with 30 points, five ahead of second-place Johnston.
After Ames High senior Rebecca Miller crossed the finish line at Thursday's Little Cyclone Invite at the ISU Cross Country Course, there was about a 20 second gap until nearly all of her teammates came in one after another.

The Ames High boys cross country wanted a better finish at Thursday's Little Cyclone Invite but just the chance to get out and run was fine with the Little Cyclones.
